Our school is participating in the Ontario Schools Battery Recycling Challenge from October 16th to April 20th, 2018.  The OSBRC is a battery recycling competition between 125 elementary and secondary schools across Ontario.  Its purpose is to teach children and their families about the proper way to handle, store and recycle batteries at home and at school.

Since 2014, students and their families have recycled more than 3 million single-use batteries!

Recycling single-use batteries diverts chemicals and reusable materials from our community landfills.  When we choose to recycle, we effectively displace the need to mine and refine the equivalent amount of resources from ore, a major cause of greenhouse-gas emissions.

Feel free to spread the word and be sure to drop off your used batteries to us here at the school.

How many batteries can we collect??
