Code of Conduct
Staff, in conjunction with our School Council, have endorsed a Code of Conduct and Dress Code for students at Park School. These codes comply with Ministry of Education requirements. We ask you to read both with your child to ensure understanding.
The following Code of Conduct is based on principles of respect, responsibility and safety. It applies to activities at school, on the bus and during school trips or events.
Expectations
- Be polite and respectful of others and their belongings.
- Use acceptable language.
- Dress appropriately.

Consequences for Inappropriate Behaviour
- Discussion of conduct with teacher and/or principal with an emphasis on problem-solving in order to prevent future problems.
- Restitution. Students may be asked to repair, clean or replace damaged property.
- Detention. Parents will be notified if students are to be detained at school for inappropriate behaviour.
- Parental involvement. The parent is contacted to discuss student behaviour and to develop a plan for improvement. This contact may vary from a telephone call to a formal conference.
- Removal of privileges. Access to the playground or removal from extra-curricular activities may occur as a result of inappropriate behaviour. Bus and lunch privileges may also be revoked for unacceptable conduct in these areas.
- Withdrawal from class. Students may be sent to an alternate, supervised location if their behaviour is seen to have a negative impact on the class.
